Cameroon 🇨🇲 : Boko Haram Intensifies Deadly Attacks in Far North Region

A new wave of terrorist attacks hits the Far North region, demonstrating Boko Haram’s persistent threat.

Series of Coordinated Attacks

A succession of terrorist attacks by Boko Haram bloodied Cameroon’s Far North between November 10 and 12, 2024. The terrorist group demonstrated its ability to simultaneously strike multiple targets, both military and civilian.

Assault on Tolkomari

The most significant attack occurred in Tolkomari, where terrorists:

  • Burned down a gendarmerie post
  • Killed one civilian and wounded three others
  • Destroyed several homes
  • Stole livestock belonging to villagers

The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) responded, managing to eliminate four members of the terrorist group.

Widespread Violence in the Region

Neighboring departments were not spared:

  • Mayo-Sava
  • Logone-et-Chari
  • Mayo-Tsanaga

The toll is particularly heavy in these areas, with eleven civilians killed in various attacks.

Threat Analysis

Boko Haram’s Operational Capabilities

These attacks demonstrate that Boko Haram maintains:

  • Capacity for coordinated attack planning
  • Significant logistical resources
  • Active presence in multiple departments
  • Terror strategy targeting both security forces and civilians
