Cameroon: Terrorist group activity persists in the Far North

Between December 7-11, 2024, several terrorist incidents were recorded in the Mayo-Sava department, notably marked by a series of kidnappings targeting farmers.

Additionally, the terrorist threat remains high in the neighboring Logone-et-Chari department, where the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWAP) continues its activities, as illustrated by the looting of a truck carrying food and equipment in Waza on December 4, 2024.

These actions, intended to spread terror, obtain resources through ransoms or forced labor, and disrupt local economies, align with the usual strategy of predation and terror by terrorist groups against rural populations
